Swastika and Manisha (third and fourth from left) are back from Indonesia. After their competition, they stayed on for a week to train at a local climbing gym. We’re really glad we could be part of that process—because we can already see the results.
One of the main goals of this support was for them to bring what they learned back home. And they did exactly that. It was great to see them lead and organize an experience-sharing session, demonstrating different types of routes and the techniques needed to climb them at the Kathmandu Sport Climbing Center.
LaMaWalks has been supporting local athletes since day one. Whether it’s purchasing climbing passes at local gyms in Nepal or supporting training abroad—if it adds value to the overall industry, we’re in.
“It was so amazing to see how routes were set in the gym. It didn’t matter how tall or short I was—just attempting them made me feel like I could top them. Of course, some were way beyond my capacity. But knowing it’s doable with proper technique, rather than feeling discouraged because the holds are too far, was already encouraging,” says Swastika.
“I don’t have as much experience as Swastika, but being able to go to Indonesia for a competition and then train in a gym like that—the whole experience was amazing. Thank you so much for the support,” says Manisha. “I still have a lot to learn. Yes, I was on the podium in a local competition here in Nepal (world-famous inside Nepal 😄), but once we step outside—we’re PHUSSA,” she laughs. “It was also a great time for me to reflect on myself—understanding my strengths and where I need to improve.”
LaMaWalks finds its purpose in moments like this and strongly believes in giving back to the community. Huge thanks to everyone who has been—and will be—part of this journey.
See you soon. Let’s get connected.
